You and I have spent a lot of time developing and understanding of what love is through analyzing and discussing different types of love. I’m starting to think that categorizing different types of love reveals but one thing—that love is nuanced.

There are as many types of love as there are people alive on earth. There is no objective truth about what exactly love is. There is no “view from nowhere,” as my favorite modern philosopher, Thomas Nagel, would say. When you and I make love, we are literally doing just that. We are making our own kind of love.
